Tutorial 6 of 6
One calendar, a report and snapshots
Advanced 7 min
Export one calendar file with reminders, print or share a consolidated household report, and compare snapshots of your key numbers over time.
Once your plans have run, Hearth can bring them together in three ways.
1. The household calendar
Export → Household calendar (.ics)… (or Calendar (.ics) on the dashboard) opens a dialog:
- Include: chores, maintenance, dinners, the move, trips, sleep plans and movie nights.
- Days ahead: how far into the future to export.
- Reminder (minutes before): timed events (dinners, wake-up times, movie nights) get a reminder that many minutes before; all-day events are reminded relative to the start of the day.
The dialog tells you how many events will be exported. Import the file into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. The tools’ own calendar files (chore rotation, maintenance with recurring events, jet lag, marathon) are available next to each result.
2. The report
Report (press 0) shows every finding and the key tables of all plans on one page: dinners and the shopping list, chore totals and fairness, maintenance due soon and the emergency supplies, the moving comparison and fit check, room plans, connections and payment costs, and the movie marathon.
- Print / save as PDF prints only the report.
- Download Markdown saves it as a
.mdfile. - Open in another app… hands the Markdown to another usefulweb premium app (App Bridge).
3. Snapshots
A snapshot stores today’s key numbers: pantry items, items expiring within three days, shopping list length, average chore fairness, planned chore minutes, maintenance jobs in the next 30 days, ticked emergency kit items, moving boxes and cost, furniture that does not fit and the tightest connection.
Press Take snapshot on the dashboard (or Edit → Take snapshot). With two or more snapshots, choose any two under Compare and with to see the change in every number.
4. Automating with the API and MCP
Every tool Hearth uses is also available on this host: GET /api/v1/tools lists them, POST /api/v1/tools/<id>/calculate runs one, and /mcp serves them to AI agents. The project format is published at /project.schema.json; a script can build a household and open it in Hearth with a #project= link.
